"How's your pelvic floor?" isn't something we say to one another. Why? Because topics like this can be embarrassing or awkward. Join us for a discrete and non-embarassing (you don't need to share) workshop on how to keep your abdomen, glutes, and pelvic floor doing what they're supposed to do for you--be strong and supportive!

What you'll get: clear understanding of what the pelvic floor is, what it's supposed to do, and how to prevent situations we don't want from happening. This will be a yoga class with some discussion (you can only participate in the discussion if you wish), and you will leave armed with easy exercises to practice at home or that you can practice within any yoga class you take.

The retreat starts with a rejuvenating yoga session, followed by a mini spa treatment: a face mask of your choosing, hand and arm massage and stretching. In this 90 minute workshop we will cover the science of breath, how breath works in the body, in our practice and the effect of breath on reducing and even increasing stress! Class will be structured with short presentations followed by some practice postures allowing participants a chance to practice new ideas and techniques they have learned. Class will close with a guided meditation focusing on breath. You can expect to learn ways to immediately begin practicing more effective, and efficient breath on and off the mat. Wear comfy clothes that you might wear to a restorative style class. Bring a notebook and yoga mat.

Pop-up Hybrid Boot camp class!

We all know there are so many benefits to yoga. We also know there are many benefits to muscle building outside of yoga. In this class we will warm up our bodies with 10-15 minutes of yoga asana practice, followed by 30-40 minutes of high intensity, “boot camp” style calisthenics. We will close the class with more yoga asana and savasana.

This is a challenging class! First establishing your breath and focus in asana, and carrying that breath and focus to a high intensity calisthenics session will not be easy.

Bring a towel!

Winter Solstice Celebration Circle

During the Winter Solstice, the Sun travels the shortest path through the sky, giving us the longest night of the year. We will celebrate this darker, quieter half of the year with a circle gathering before the solstice, like many of our ancestors did at Solstice. The studio will be lit by candlelight, there will be a yule altar and tree to decorate, and you'll be led through a meditative yoga practice to bask in the beauty of this season. The studio will be cozy so dress warm, and please bring a "gift" from nature to adorn the yule altar.

Modern Magic: Yoga, Crystals, & Spellcasting

October 31st marks the celebration of Halloween, where treats and costumes fill our homes. It also marks the eve of Samhain, an ancient Gaelic festival that welcomes in the harvest and the darker half of the year, sitting between the Autumnal Equinox and the Winter Solstice. It's said that during this time of year, the veil grows thin between the physical and spirit worlds, making it a powerful time for ritual work, manifestation, and connecting to our ancestors.

In this workshop, we’ll celebrate this magical time of year with a yoga practice that focuses on breath awareness and bringing you into your body, as well as a group tarot card pull to manifest and set intentions. There will be an area in the center of the studio to serve as a visual focus, so please bring something special with you that represents the fall season to place there. Each attendant will leave with a specialty herbal blend and a unique gemstone to take home and cast spells with.

Kirtan: The Yoga of Sound

Join Heidi and her harmonium for an evening of Sound Yoga. Based on the concepts of Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of love and devotion, Kirtan uses the vibration of sound expressed through the chanting of a “mantra” to focus and direct our awareness within. We will enjoy singing and chanting modern Kirtan tunes to experience Bhakti Yoga, followed by guided meditation. No musical experience or background is necessary and you do not need to have a “good” singing voice to enjoy the Kirtan. The mantras are words and expressions of sound developed by sages thousands of years ago in Sanskrit. Kirtan focuses on the sound and vibration over meaning to allow this experience to manifest within. So mark your calendars to attend and broaden your yoga and meditation practice through an evening of Kirtan with Heidi.

Winter is the perfect time to practice opening your heart. As heavy coats and cold air weigh us down it's important to reconnect with joy and move through the grief that winter brings. In a yoga class, backbends help to open up the heart, creating more space in the chest to improve posture and breath capacity. This workshop will include a backbend focused practice and a cacao + rose ceremony that Corinne will lead prior to class. Cacao, the seed from which chocolate is made, is made up of chemical compounds and nutrients that improve blood flow to the brain and heart. Additionally, Rose is the perfect herbal aid for February (& Valentine's Day!) as it's high in vitamin C to help boost immunity and keep you well throughout the winter season. Paired together, the two create the perfect heart opening elixir. Snacks will be provided and take-home herbs will be provided.

On January 21, there is a New Moon in Aquarius— the sign of the Visionary. Let us gather together and channel the sign of The Collective through an intention-setting practice. Tricia will guide you through an evening of journaling, a gentle Qi Gong practice, a deep nourishing Yin practice, closing with an extended Savasana with optional hands-on assists. Together in the darkness, we will plant the seeds for 2023 not only for ourselves, but for the greater good.
