In this 90 minute workshop we will cover the science of breath, how breath works in the body and in our practice, as well as the effect of breath on reducing (and even increasing!) stress. Class will be structured with short presentations followed by some practice postures, allowing participants a chance to practice new ideas and techniques they have learned. Class will close with a guided meditation focusing on breath. You can expect to learn ways to immediately begin practicing more effective, and efficient breath on and off the mat. Wear comfy clothes that you might wear to a restorative style class. Bring a notebook and yoga mat.
About the teacher:
Jason is a 500 hr certified yoga instructor. He spent the better part of his advanced study focusing on breath. Through his own experiences in building a breath practice he has seen first hand how breath affects us, even if we are not aware of the effect. Jason teaches restorative and slow-flow focused yoga classes at Ritual Vibes.
